2-26-2010 Morning Breath and Alphabits

Okay - Daddy has to fess up to morning breath...you know it's bad when my toddler daughter gets into the big bed to snuggle, tells me I am warm and snugly and then gently pushes my face the other way so I don't breathe on her...at least she wasn't super rude about it - LOL!!!

This morning on the way to school, Julia was eating Alphabits cereal out of her snack cup and said "Look Daddy, this is a D." So then we started saying D words. I said Dust and Julia pretended to sneeze - LOL. Then I said Danger and she pretended to be scared. When I said Dog she barked. Diamond - shiny. Dirty - yucky. Diaper - she said ewwwww! It was fun - I was most surprised by the Dust - sneeze!

2/24/2010 Our Dancer!

Here's a photo of Julia ready to go to dance class at Ms. Shelly's. She loves this class with Miss Jennifer and is so excited about the upcoming Spring recital. She tells me "Daddy, I'm going to dance on the stage and Mommy is going to put on my makeup. You and Stella will watch me." Hmmm, makeup??? We all can't wait for the recital!

2/23/2010 "I'm tired..."

Well, Julia has been at Undercroft for about 4 months now, which means getting her up around 7-7:20am to get changed and ready to go and most days I still hear "I'm tired..." and most days I tell her the same thing - "that's why when Mommy or Daddy say it's time to sleep it's time to sleep - you need to get your rest so you are not tired in the morning when it's time to go to school." Some nights are easier then others, but something about getting ready for bed gives Julia a boost of energy to run, hide, tell stories, read a book and chitter chatter for 10-30 minutes...oh well, things could be worse and Julia is really not that bad at all - it's just her old parents that are so tired! LOL.

MOMMY NOTE: Good grief- we tried everything! We even did a sticker system where we'd give a sticker for every "done" ritua; - like changing into pjs and brushing teeth... I guess only time could improve this :) not complaining we've got a great girl... who for some reason just HAS TO play and hide right before bed time.

2/22/2010 From Meme's Facebook Post

After running to the bathroom, J comes back disgruntled "oh no mommy, I thought I was going peepee but all I heard was my fart."

2/22/2010 "But we didnt have a family hug!??!!!"

Last night and this morning we told Julia that yei-yei and ah-ma were leaving for Chicago this morning - she gave them kisses and hugs this morning before I took her to school and as we were driving to Undercroft I reminded her again that grandparents will be on an airplane when she gets home from school..."But we didn't have a family hug???!!??!!!" Yes, that's because Mommy and Stella were still sleeping...but we will do a family hug at yei-yei and ah ma's house in Chicago when we go to visit them in 3 weeks! Poor Julia was disappointed when she got home from school with Meme and Stella - hoping to see yei-yei and ah-ma and told Meme the same things "no family hug" :0(

2/18/2010 Fish for the UMS Primary Classroom fish tank

Today Meme picked up Julia from school and they went to Petco to buy and donate community fish for Julia's classroom aquarium. It was a special activity for Meme and Julia to do together and they were both excited about it. When they were in the van and on the short drive to Petco, after Meme told Julia they were going to go buy fish for the classroom, J asked "Are we getting sauce too?" They selected about 8 or 9 fish, 3 of which were small neon pink (for the girls according to Meme) and Julia was so happy to carry the bag of fish back to class and all her classmates were happy and excited to see the new fish too! Julia turned to Meme and asked "Can I stay in school now?" The answer was no and they headed home for lunch - after Spring break Julia will surely enjoy the full day at Undercroft!

2/16/2010

This morning Julia told me she dreamed of a pogo stick and bouncing very high. My darling older daughter loves to read, dance, sing, draw/make art and spending time with family and friends. We all miss our great peeps in Chicago.
She's a real trooper of a big sister and we are blessed to have two great girls! Here's some recent pictures from this past week. Chinese New Years was extra special with Grandparents Moy here in Tulsa with us and cooking up a storm basically every day!
