3/3/2010 - Tears and Big Time Crying
The day was fine, but ended with a big cry before bed...why...because Julia didn't listen to Daddy when he told her to put her toys away, find the missing piece to her toy food set she was playing with and stop running around the house. It's already hectic enough with two pretty good girls, but one of Daddy's pet peeves is missing a piece of a set of something and not taking care of your stuff (toys) by keeping it in its place and putting things away when we are done using/playing with it. So when I was at my wits end and told Julia she was being yiae yiae (bad/naughty in Cantonese) that cracked her and the tears started rolling as she knows I say yiae-yiae kids get nothing. So Mommy and Daddy had to calm her down and then she wanted Mommy to put her to bed and then after I told her I loved her and will always love her, but she needs to listen to what I say and take care of her toys she wanted me to put her to bed...after she finally drifted off around 8:40pm I had to help Meme with gerd girl...This is all real life parenting! The good and bad, thankfully much much more good than bad ;o)

3/2/2010 Deep Sleep and The Nest
Well, little miss Julia was TIRED last night and insisted on sleeping in mommy and daddy's big bed...so here she is in deep sleep just after midnight...slept through (from about 8pm) the night until I had to wake her up around 7:15am.
Then as we were going to the CRV in the garage, we heard the bird chirping and captured this photo this morning...however, it looks like a dove pigeon to me and I swear we saw a robin in the nest this weekend...oh no, I hope we don't have a squatters and won't have to deal with bird nest wars at our front entry way! Time will tell...Julia is just happy to see "our" bird and Meme wants to get a bird feeder now...which we can use our house warming Lowe's gift card from our dear friend Susan Linker to buy! Yippee!

3/1/2010 Birds, Q Tips and Weight Watchers!

We recently discovered we have a bird's nest in front of our house and this past weekend while Julia and I were having breakfast I heard the chirping and went to look...the Mommy bird was in the nest, so I called Julia over to see and she was so delighted! Big happy smile! I asked her to think of a name for the bird outside our house...today she said she wants to call it "Flowers" because flowers are beautiful and so if our bird!
In Julia's class at Undercroft Montessori the letter of the week is Q...when I picked her up at school today and asked her what was for snack she replied "Q-tip". Really??? Yes, she said it was a pretzel stick with marshmallows on the ends - it was yummy and she really likes the marshmallows! Wow - Meme and I were very impressed with the guide or parent that made snacks to go along with the letter Q!
Then after the 3-5 seconds after getting Julia buckled in, closing her car door and getting back into the drivers seat, Julia asked me "What is Weight Watchers?" I replied it's a program to lose weight and be healthy. Julia said "No it's not, it's your school and I go with you sometimes and we listen to your teacher."...and then I hear the commercial is actually playing on the XM radio in the car and realize Julia heard the commercial and remembers going to WW with me some Saturdays! Wow - her memory and picking up on everything is superb!
Lastly when we got home and the bird was not in the nest, Julia says "Maybe the mommy bird is out getting worms for her entire family." Yes, I say probably!

2-26-2010 Morning Breath and Alphabits
Okay - Daddy has to fess up to morning breath...you know it's bad when my toddler daughter gets into the big bed to snuggle, tells me I am warm and snugly and then gently pushes my face the other way so I don't breathe on her...at least she wasn't super rude about it - LOL!!!

This morning on the way to school, Julia was eating Alphabits cereal out of her snack cup and said "Look Daddy, this is a D." So then we started saying D words. I said Dust and Julia pretended to sneeze - LOL. Then I said Danger and she pretended to be scared. When I said Dog she barked. Diamond - shiny. Dirty - yucky. Diaper - she said ewwwww! It was fun - I was most surprised by the Dust - sneeze!

2/24/2010 Our Dancer!
Here's a photo of Julia ready to go to dance class at Ms. Shelly's. She loves this class with Miss Jennifer and is so excited about the upcoming Spring recital. She tells me "Daddy, I'm going to dance on the stage and Mommy is going to put on my makeup. You and Stella will watch me." Hmmm, makeup??? We all can't wait for the recital!

2/23/2010 "I'm tired..."
Well, Julia has been at Undercroft for about 4 months now, which means getting her up around 7-7:20am to get changed and ready to go and most days I still hear "I'm tired..." and most days I tell her the same thing - "that's why when Mommy or Daddy say it's time to sleep it's time to sleep - you need to get your rest so you are not tired in the morning when it's time to go to school." Some nights are easier then others, but something about getting ready for bed gives Julia a boost of energy to run, hide, tell stories, read a book and chitter chatter for 10-30 minutes...oh well, things could be worse and Julia is really not that bad at all - it's just her old parents that are so tired! LOL.
MOMMY NOTE: Good grief- we tried everything! We even did a sticker system where we'd give a sticker for every "done" ritua; - like changing into pjs and brushing teeth... I guess only time could improve this :) not complaining we've got a great girl... who for some reason just HAS TO play and hide right before bed time.

2/22/2010 From Meme's Facebook Post
After running to the bathroom, J comes back disgruntled "oh no mommy, I thought I was going peepee but all I heard was my fart."
